The Claire Apartments
About The Claire Apartments 1560 Sacramento is a stately Nob Hill classic, constructed in 1907 as San Francisco rebuilt itself after the famous earthquake. The building started life as an upscale residence hotel – complete with an awning over the entry, linen service, a dining room, and, according to some reports, a doorman – before being transformed into apartments during World War II in order to combat the wartime housing shortage. Now the building known as The Claire – as emblazoned in ornate script over the front door – enthralls residents with a mix of historic architecture and modern amenities.
